SERP offers several online professional learning options for teachers and teacher leaders. These series are designed to be self-paced, flexible, and accessible at any time or place for individuals, but we highly recommend collaboration among teacher teams to get the most out of each experience.
Registration and enrollment is available through our program websites. Once enrolled, you may sign in and access your courses at any time throughout the year.
STARI
Professional Learning
STARI Professional Learning invites educators to dive into the STARI program and provides opportunities for teachers and coaches to explore STARI practices and skills and learn to implement STARI effectively. Sessions include videos, readings, hands-on activities, and much more.

Provides introduction to STARI + information on evaluating STARI classrooms
K-2 Literacy
Professional Learning
Effective Literacy Workstations and Developing Student Discourse are designed to support K-2 teachers with highly effective literacy instruction. Teachers will be able to see what effective practices look like in real classrooms at all three grade levels, hear from exemplar teachers about how and why they put those practices in place, understand how to troubleshoot and respond to challenges, and try practices out in their own classrooms.
Each course also has a version for Coaches and includes a comprehensive Coaching Guide.
Word Generation
Professional Learning
Word Generation Professional Learning invites educators to explore WordGen practices and skills. This series includes extended introductory sessions for WordGen Elementary and WordGen Weekly, as well as additional sessions that specifically focus on discussion, argumentation, academic language, and perspective-taking skills. Sessions include videos, readings, hands-on activities, and much more.
